Your data & exports
Where your data lives, full exports, and erasing it.
Everything Butin pulls lives in one place: ~/butin in your home folder.
~/butin/
config.json ← your encrypted sessions and per-service settings
<service>/
reports/ ← the data behind each tab (billing, usage, …)
documents/ ← downloaded files (invoices, PDFs, records)Sessions are encrypted (via your OS keychain). Reports and downloaded files sit in plain folders you can open and browse.
Pulling everything
- Save everything (on a service's settings) pulls a full export of that service in one pass — every report and every available document — into its folder.
- Some services expose a bulk Documents tab (select files, download) or, for large record sets, a one-shot Export (for example, a full health-record export).
Removing data
- Erase stored data wipes one service's reports, keeping the session and any downloaded files.
- Uninstall a service removes its session, settings, and cached data, but keeps downloaded files — unless you tick the option to delete its whole data folder.
- Clear all (in Settings) wipes everything, after a two-click confirm.
- Disconnect keeps your downloaded files — it only drops the session.
There is no cloud, no sync, and no account. There's nowhere for your data to go — which is the entire point.
